Mr. Suresh Garg laid the foundation of Zeon Lifesciences with a vision—A Promise of Good Health

While the Indian scenario for entrepreneurship was still in its budding stage 3 decades ago, visionary Mr. Suresh Garg chose to explore his zeal for industry right after his graduation. An attempt to sculpt his dream further, he laid down the foundation of Mahaan Dairies Ltd. (MDL) to arbitrate the manufacturing process for industry giants like Amul, Mother Dairy in Nov 1989. His brainchild Zeon Lifesciences Ltd. is one of the most reliable and reputed players in contract manufacturing of Nutraceutical and Ayurvedic products. It has garnered reverence and a humongous clientele by providing state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities for both large and small players. Ever since its inception, Zeon Lifesciences Ltd has focused on developing and servicing high quality products using scalable technology and continuous innovations to provide competitive edge to its clients. The early lessons:

Mr. Garg was born in 1958 in a business family. His father Lala Dalip Chand Garg, an industrialist, who ran a cotton ginning and pressing unit and was also involved in industrial edible oil manufacturing at Pilibangan, Rajasthan. After completing college education in 1978, Mr. Suresh Garg started helping his father in family business. With his understanding and key skill he supported advancement in technology to enhance production capacity, scalable and cost effective.

With the legacy drawn from family business Mr. Garg thought of entering in the dairy business when other corporations were struggling to enter in these areas due to various policy issues where Govt. was intent to support only milk co-operative instead of private. “He aggressively visited multiple territories and then decided to establish a unit in the beautiful valley of Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh in the year of 1987. This was the first private dairy plant in the State. Facility was equipped with latest state-of-the-art technology and started with processing of 1.4 lakh litres of milk per day, which was subsequently expanded to over 3 lakh litres per day,” stated by Mr. Garg. The facility was manufacturing pure desi ghee, and other milk products like skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, dairy creams, and many other products. Mr. Garg says that the company came into profit within five months whereas normally it takes over three years for any industry to stand on its own. Mrs. Rani Garg, Mr. Garg's wife walked with him hand-in-hand in all his struggles and is the backbone of Zeon.

In 1994, Mr. Garg was honoured by Honourable President of India Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma for Quality Products.

Subsequently with a foresight of the market and a commitment for good health of the society he started manufacturing of Nutraceuticals, phyto-pharmaceutical & Ayurvedic products and food ingredients. Now Zeon Lifesciences Ltd. is recognised as global leaders in Nutraceuticals, Health & Wellness Industry. Mr. Garg plays a key role in framing up the Government Policies for MSME and holds Directorship of Himachal Chamber of Commerce and Industry not only this he is also member of many other industry associations.

Emerging into Health and Wellness Industry:

In 2003, the Union Government led by Honourable Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced a special industrial package to Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. To benefit from it, Mr. Suresh Garg MD, Zeon Lifesciences Ltd. has extended their activities in the sector of Health and Wellness. Zeon Lifesciences has exclusively collaborated with many global companies and premier research institutions of international repute under the global vision and dynamic leadership of Mr. Garg, for patented value-added ingredients for manufacturing and selling of its unique formulations. “I feel proud to say that Zeon is India’s most trusted research driven company catering its products across the Globe. Zeon Lifesciences Ltd excels in manufacturing nutraceutical products by employing cutting-edge technology and hence enabling the clients to market their brands and meet the growing demands of their customers. Zeon provides end-to-end manufacturing solutions for multiple dosage form requirements. The Zeon campus has four separate divisions. Each division is an independent unit and segregated for dry blended powders, wet blended powders, tablets, two piece capsules, diskettes, liquid orals, homogenized spray dried powders, high fat powders or vacuum oven dried powders. This is the only facility in the country for contract manufacturing which offers all these services under one roof. Professionally she has an interior design master’s degree from the USA. She has added value by participating in various online webinars and created an informative website of Zeon and also futuristic in more designing and development w.r.t. packaging innovation, product innovation, market research and analysis.

Zeon is more focused on science based products and beliefs in collaboration with various reputed institutions and international organizations. Zeon also entered into in-licensing (Optibiotix, UK and GLN Labs, a subsidiary of IMAC/ADFAC, USA) and out-licensing of patented ingredients to develop efficacious products.
